Stream shares now automatically show Past Broadcasts after the stream

Twitch is better with others. When we catch a great stream or see an incredible moment live, we naturally want to show our friends and get them involved. But when you share a live Twitch stream, it eventually becomes a useless link when the stream goes offline. There wasn’t much reason to stick around and dive in… until today.

Now, when you tap the Share button below the video player on web, you can share a link that will auto-update to show the corresponding Past Broadcast when the stream wraps up. No more boring links to offline channels!

When the stream is live, the link goes to the live channel page. When the stream is over, the link opens the Past Broadcast. If archiving isn’t turned on or if the past broadcast is expired, you’ll see a prompt to follow the channel and get notified the next time they go live.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Tap the Share button below the video player on web
  2. Share to social media, copy the URL, or use the new Embed Video code

It’s that simple. Now, go forth and make beautiful links!
